Duka Dance strives for a connection between creative performance and creative community education. Therefore each project balances professional performance with outreach work.
In June 2013, Duka Dance were in residency with Intlantsi Volunteers in Hamburg, South Africa.
During the National Arts Festival in South Africa, Duka were also lucky enough to perform in The Grahamstown Correctional Prison to a large and enthusiastic audience.
Later in July, the company taught workshops in dance, indigenous music and drama with young people at Sitiyweni Junior Combined School in the far north of the Eastern Cape, at the border with Lesotho.
